Job description

Canal and River Trust charity are looking for multiple Customer Support Administrators (2 perm and 1 mat cover). They are the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways, because we believe that life is better by water. They have found research shows that spending time by water, whether it be your lunchbreak, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, really does make us feel happier and healthier. The successful candidate will deliver excellence in customer service and support for customers, dealing with face to face enquiries, on the phone and in written communications and providing general administration and financial support to the cause. Please note there are three roles.

Key responsibilities
Manage the enquiries inbox and respond to customer queries
Handle incoming calls from central customer service team
Raise jobs with our contractors for broken facilities
Log navigational notification for near misses
Raise navigational notices & stoppages
Manage our pre-bookable mooring sites, booking of mooring slots and resolve mooring related issues
Book in boat passages (locks)
Support the Duty Supervisor with general admin tasks over the weekend
Manage our social media platform (Twitter)
Raise purchase orders or call of orders during the weekend
Provide internal business support such as ordering uniforms and raising invoices
Selling of licence, pump-out cards and BW Keys
Manage the front of house



Person specification
NVQ Level 2 Business Administration.
knowledge of working safely
budget management experience
Experience in SAP
Proven experience in a customer service area, providing front of house services.
Proven experience of administration.
Some experience of working as or with volunteer(s).
Communication skills that allow you to inform, help and advise customers clearly and professionally and liaise with other professionals.
Ability to deal with difficult and potentially confrontational situations.
Confident in the use of the MS Office word processing and spreadsheet software.
