Job description

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead an organisation through an exceptionally exciting time of growth. Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is looking for a brand new Director of Fundraising. RDA is a federation of around 500 independent charities (groups) and RDA UK, a charity in its own right, leads the strategic direction and provides effective shared services for the federation. RDA's horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults. With fun activities like riding and carriage driving, we provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement - all supported by 18,000 volunteers and qualified coaches. The combined turnover of the federation is around £15m.

RDA UK are seeking a dynamic team leader who can inspire their team and the volunteer network they work with to dramatically increase their income and help deliver their ambitious growth strategy.

The charity is well positioned to deliver a step change in outcomes, but this requires a comparable step change in income.

Over the next three years they need to substantially increase their fundraised income from £1.8 million to near £4 million. While this is a significant challenge the right person will be working with a committed team delivery significant and meaningful services that they are determined` to grow.

Director of Fundraising

Location:                       RDA's National Training Centre near Warwick at Lowlands Farm, Shrewley, CV35 7AX. Ideal candidate will be in the office 3 to 4 days a week.
Compensation:               Package of circa £70,000
Contract:                       Permanent

What they are looking for:

  • Someone who is highly motivated by what RDA do and believe that this is a great opportunity to transform a charity with a fabulous reputation, but very much underleveraged in terms of voluntary income, into a highly successful fundraising organisation, for the benefit of the whole federation, and more importantly for the participants that they serve.
  • Someone who is currently a Head of Fundraising and has the experience and gravitas to lead RDA UK into significant growth.
  • 5+ years of senior fundraising experience and the senior level.
