Head of Communications
Job description
As Head of Communications, you will develop and support key campaigns and strategies that help promote and explain the work of a Cancer prevention Charity that funds research, influences global policy and educates the public on healthy living choices.
Joining a credible, and well reputed charity, you will lead communications for both the International and UK office’s, based in London. You will achieve engagement primarily via the use of media relations, social media, e-news and e-campaigns, website content (articles, blogs etc.), supporter stories, and celebrity/ambassador management. You will work collaboratively with the Creative Lead and Digital Lead, whilst line managing a team of 2.
As Head of Communications your depth and breadth of comms experience will strike a balance of strategic, creative and tactical skills. The ability to simplify scientific or health language for a Ley audience will be key.
We are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, as well as being able to act on their own initiative. Clear, demonstrable experience in the following areas is essential:
- Leading the development and management of successful campaign and media strategies (across PR, social media and Digital)
- Writing for different audiences across a number of internal and external channels
- Strategic planning and target setting
- Planning and managing multiple projects
- Briefing media spokespeople
Full-time, Permanent
Salary- £45,000-£50,000 per annum, plus benefits
Location- This is a hybrid role, with your working time split between your home and 2 days per week in the North London Office. Nearest station King’s Cross station.
