Head Of Funding

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Hilda's East Community Centre, a long established and award-winning voluntary sector organisation in the East End of London. They have created the new post of Head of Funding to help secure resources to take the organisation forward into the next decade.

St Hilda's is a locally managed and well-respected community organisation, combining life changing neighbourhood Community Development Projects with local authority commissioned Social Care delivered across the borough of Tower Hamlets. They currently run twelve Services, from children's and youth projects, award winning Legal Advice provision, a highly popular volunteer run Food Co-op, a Boundary Women's Project working with local Bangladeshi and other women, to a LinkAge Plus over 50s' project and borough wide Day Care.

Funding for their work comes from a range of sources: charitable trust grants, livery companies, local Council contracts, sponsored events, corporate companies, community fundraising and donations - as well as income generation from hiring out space in our freehold community centre premises.

This role will require you to be responsible for developing multiple income streams for the Charity. It would be advantageous if you have experience in business development along with traditional fundraising techniques, as a proportion of the centre's income is currently generated through lettings to local organisations on both long term and casual hire.
