IT Helpdesk Officer – Temporary role with immediate start

We're working with a brilliant charity based in King’s Cross who are looking for a temporary IT Helpdesk Officer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in keeping their systems running smoothly and supporting their dedicated staff, who are working to make a real difference every day.

Location: King’s Cross (on-site at Head Office)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £14.45 per hour / £28,183.49 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Temporary, full-time

About the role:
As IT Helpdesk Officer, you’ll be the first port of call for staff across the organisation who need technical support – whether it’s troubleshooting an issue, setting up new equipment, or helping someone navigate a system. You’ll make sure the IT helpdesk is responsive, helpful, and efficient, keeping everything running smoothly.

You’ll also support the IT Manager in maintaining the organisation’s IT infrastructure, contributing to projects and system rollouts, and ensuring data security protocols are followed. From supporting service transitions to liaising with third-party providers, you’ll be involved in a wide range of work that helps keep staff and systems connected.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely and professional IT support to staff across the organisation

  • Logging, tracking, and resolving helpdesk requests

  • Assisting with the delivery of IT projects and implementations

  • Helping manage secure systems access and data protection processes

  • Supporting the transition to new systems and service providers (e.g. internet, telephony)

  • Liaising with third-party IT service providers to ensure continuity and stability

  • Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role
