Senior Advisory and Business Development Manager

Job description

A charity are looking for a Senior Manager to lead their strategic consultancy service and business development strategy for charities. You will be responsible for shaping and leading their proposition and strategy, taking a lead role in relation to business development across the department. In addition, develop their bespoke grant-making and special project work

You will be a skilled consultant comfortable with managing a high performing team. You will have excellent project management skills with a sound understanding of the charity sector particularly in relation to governance, fundraising, income generation and grant making. To be successful in this role you will have strong networks and be motivated to significantly grow CAF's Charity Advisory & Grant Making services to new levels.

-Responsible for leading strategic consultancy work with charities in the UK; specifically on strategy, fundraising, governance, impact and resilience.
-Taking a lead role on the implementation of the business development strategy working with client facing teams, horizon scanning and networking to find potential opportunities to pursue then utilising relevant strategies to secure new work
-Leading on strategy and assignments to achieve significant year on year growth in income annually.
-Responsible for shaping and implementing strategy in special projects (including bespoke grant-making programmes)
-Co-ordinate the production of quality proposals in response to business leads on behalf of the department.
-Lead responsibility for bespoke and high-value grant-making assignments for UK and international grant-makers.
-Responsible for shaping and implementing strategy in grant making
Leading retention and growth of clients in Advisory and Grant Making. Expand existing clients through effective client management - focus on multi-year, multi service contracts that combine advisory and grant-making elements and expertise.
-Drive business development with new clients in relations to Advisory and Grant Making.
-Ensure robust project and grant management, including scoping out and pricing projects, to ensure quality standards are maintained and project progress is monitored.

Skills and Experience required:
- An in-depth understanding and experience of the non-profit sector, specifically on strategy, grant-making programmes, fundraising, programme implementation, impact measurement, charity governance and finance gained from significant and proven experience working in the sector, ideally for a number of charities across a range of disciplines.
