Senior Commercial Manager

Job description

An international organisation are looking for a Senior Commercial Bid Manager to lead and support proposal development, with the support of an experienced team of Commerical Manager's you will manage the preparation of financial proposals on the organsiation's most strategic bids.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop the commercial policy for the organisation and guide the bidding teams on commercial positioning.

The organisation offers a flexible working environment so you could be based from hoke for 2 or 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead the preparation of strategically important commercial proposals (typically over 5 million)
-Manage a team of Commercial Managers
-Provide general advice and guidance for the preparation of financial proposals for any bids as requested
-Develop and guide implementation of organisation policy on financial and commercial proposals.
-Establish and design commercial models to be used in proposals, including input-based, results-based, and innovative hybrid models
-Advise on client's terms and conditions and how these affect the OPM commercial model for each client
-Provide commercial guidance to teams engaged in contract negotiations
-Develop and review company level commercial models such as overhead recovery models and margin target models
-Lead the development of Commercial policy and practice, including overhead recovery models, margin targets and budgets for producing bids

Key Skills & Experience required:
-Demonstrable ability to work with teams to develop all required commercial information to be fully compliant on proposals
-Strong technical understanding and demonstrated experience of designing commercial models (input-based, results-based, and hybrids) as part of successful bids for large donors (DFID, USAID, WB etc.) models where payments are assessed against targets
-Experience of developing project milestone arrangements and defining outputs/KPIs
-Public sector procurement experience preferably with experience of DFID
-Collaborative in building relationship across the business with key stakeholders to drive successful results.
-Strong relationship building and communications skills, with the ability to work in a professional services environment
-Strong Project Management skills
-Excellent analytical and presentation skills
-Strong experience of bidding with Government contracts within the private sector
-Practical experience of developing and negotiating output-based contract
