Senior Data and Insight Officer

Job description

An international social welfare charity based In East London are looking for a Senior Data and Insight Officer. The candidate would need to provide the charity with effective data management, maintenance and analysis to support the delivery of fundraising, campaigns and communications objectives.
Key responsibilities
Work closely with fundraising, campaigns and communications colleagues to determine the best selection criteria for data extracts
Prepare, segment, analyse and output data for use in offline and online communications
Ensure that all data actions are planned and carried out in a timely and accurate manner
Populate, maintain and manage data held within the database including data write-backs, gone-aways and ensuring data quality and accuracy between Raisers Edge and Engaging Networks
Own, manage and resolve data quality issues and ensure all data is fit for purpose
Champion the database internally to ensure maximum centralisation of data
Manage the database systems, in conjunction with our IT suppliers, ensuring that the systems are up-to-date, functioning optimally and fit for purpose
Prepare regular analysis of fundraising, communications and campaign appeals and activities, highlighting key performance indicators, reporting on return on investment and establishing trends
Lead data analysis projects for teams across the organisation, building project teams to ensure requirements are scoped and met


Person specification

Demonstrable expertise in using Raiser's Edge (or a similar fundraising database), to a high level, including querying, importing, selecting and exporting data and producing reports
Good understanding of data protection including GDPR, PECR and best practice
Ability to analyse data and provide meaningful and credible information on short term results and long term trends
Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel
Highly detail-oriented with excellent accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
Organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload within agreed deadlines
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret complex information for non-specialist audiences
A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to work independently and act on initiative where appropriate
