Senior Development Manager
Job description
Harris Hill are thrilled be working with an environmental organisation who are looking for a Senior Development Manager. They are currently looking for a motivated and experienced fundraising professional to join their team on a fixed term contract, who will own the delivery of their trusts and foundations fundraising strategy and support their Major Donor work and individual giving.
Within this role you will be:
- Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and working within the Fundraising and Communications Team, you will investigate strategic funding opportunities for their priority areas of work to create an ongoing pipeline of funding applications that stand out from the crowd.
- Have overall responsibility for attainment of pipeline and funding targets. Managing and working with the Trusts and Foundations Coordinator on grant applications to charitable trusts and foundations (T&F) to ensure an average of 1m of applications per Quarter, with 10% of this being secured as funding.
- Plan and monitor progress of T&F funding for subsequent financial years to build a sufficient pipeline to achieve Financial Plan targets.
- You will also contribute to the development of creative new major donor appeals and individual giving campaigns to support their ambitious income targets for the next financial year.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is seeking to use their fundraising experience to assist a pioneering environmental organisation at an exciting time in their development. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can take the initiative, with a hands-on approach and extensive experience in charity fundraising.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Demonstrable passion for environmental issues and sustainability, with an understanding of the environmental sector
- Significant experience of working in and managing a fundraising team to achieve successful results against challenging targets; with direct experience of successful grant writing and major donor/individual fundraising
- Detailed Trust and Foundation fundraising knowledge (research, solicitation and stewardship of organisational funding bodies) with a demonstrable track record in securing significant funds.
