Head of Strategy

Job description

A charity are looking for a Head of Strategy for a 6 month contract to help lead on developing their target operating model and initiating their new strategy.

You will lead the process and ensure successful delivery of all aspects of Organisational Design, related Financial model and Performance measurement framework, manging strategy projects ensuring that these are delivered to a high standard

Key Responsibilities:
-To develop an organisational strategy (including structure, process & performance framework and Financial model) ensuring it is aligned to the strategic direction and ambitions of the organisation.
-To be responsible for the delivery of the Strategy organisational design and ensure that all workstreams within the project are delivered on time and to a high standard.
-Support the organisation as an organisational design/effectiveness subject matter expert including developing and implementing high quality, cost-effective organisational effectiveness tools, methods, programs and services.
-To develop and run a range of organisational development activities and interventions to support structural and cultural change across the charity.
-To embed co-design practice into the organisational design development and partner with staff, volunteers and users and translate needs into organisational capability.
-Evaluate and develop models for Shared Services across the charity
-To ensure that key stakeholders are effectively engaged in the strategy implementation/delivery process
-To champion strategic thinking across the organisation and help build organisational skills to develop and deliver strategy and ensure all strategic projects and activities actively contribute to the delivery of the strategy.
-To lead strategic projects ensuring effective cross-organisational working and smooth transition of projects into business as usual activity where appropriate.
-To build analytical models and perform regular financial, competitive, performance, and market analyses for the business in order to comprehensively value business opportunities.

Skills and Experience required:
-Strategic thinker, able to see the big picture and implement clear operational delivery plans
-Proven experience in leading the development of an organisational strategy and implementation plan
-A track record in developing, organisational design, target operating models and business modelling
-Proven experience in conducting research and data analysis and using the insight to inform organisational strategy
-A track record in managing projects and programmes to tight deadlines with high levels of cross-organisational collaboration and matrix management
-Ability to lead, manage and motivate others and create strong working relationships with both staff and volunteers at all levels
-Strong analytical skills to be able to provide analysis of financial information and oversight
